A Birthday Card for my Bestie!!

Happy Sunday everyone! Today is one of my best friends birthday, so I wanted to share a card that I made for her. Her favorite color is purple and I decided to do a little watercoloring with my Karin and Altenew Watercolor Markers. Watercoloring is not my strongest suit, but I love challenging myself, so I jumped right in!
I decided to use Canson Cold Press paper for this card. It is a cheaper watercolor paper, but I was not sure how this would turn out, so I did not want to ruin my more more expensive watercolor paper. Archers watercolor paper is my favorite water color paper, but when I experiment, I use my Canson paper because of the price factor.
I absolutely love the Mum background stamp from The Ton, so I decided to give it a try. First, I treated my watercolor paper with my embossing buddy to elimante static, and then I stamped the image with Wow! Embossing ink and using my Misti, I stamped the mum image onto my Canson watercolor paper. I stamped it twice to make sure that I got a good stamped image. I then used Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine White embossing power and heat set it. It is hard to see the white on white embossed image so you will need to look at it at a angle to see the stamped image. I then made sure that I had some water in my water dish, and started watercoloring using my Violet Blue Karin Marker and Midnight Voilet from Altenew Watercolor Marker. I first used the Karin Marker color and then came in with the Altenew Marker color. I added more layers on different petals of the mum to add a different dimension and color and used the water to help the color travel where I wanted it to go. Very time consuming, but so worth it! I let areas dry before adding more layers as well. After I got the result that I wanted, I then cut it down to 5.75x5.75 because I chose to do a 6x6 card this time so I could not lose most of the stamped image. It is a very large flower! I then got out my Happy Birthday die from Simon Says stamps and cut the shadow out in vellum and the sentiment out in black cardstock. I then cut the sentiment out in fun foam so I could pop up the sentiment. I glue the black cardstock sentiment onto the top of the vellum shadow using Bearly Art glue and then I glued the fun foam sentiment to the back of the vellum shadow using the front sentiment as my guide of where to glue it. Then I glued the sentiment onto the card panel. I then added some bling I had in my stash and then glued the card panel onto purple cardstock to mat the card panel, and then glued it onto a 110lb  black card base. It turned out so great! I can't wait to give it to my friend today!!
I hope you all have a great Sunday and I will see you all later this week!
Happy Crafting Y'all!
