Hey everyone!! I am here today with a Christmas card! Yes, I said Christmas card! During the holiday season, Trinity Stamps came out with a awesome stencil called Tree Of Lights that I wanted so bad! Guess what? It sold out of course! Last month when I was on their website doing a little shopping, I noticed it was back in stock, so I snagged it up! I just love this layering stencil! So I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards, and it is never too early to start making Christmas cards!
First, I choose my colors which are All That Jazz and Daydream from Catherine Pooler for the teal card and Pixie Dust and Royal Treatment from Catherine Pooler for the purple tree. I used Hero Arts Intense Black ink for the black ink and I used silver and copper super fine embossing power from WOW! I first stenciled the lighter color, then I stenciled the darker color and then moved onto the black ink using a blender brush. I then got out a dauber and dabbed WOW Embossing ink for the last layer and heat embossed the metallic color. Even though I used my static pouch, a little dust showed up, but I actually like that since it adds some shimmer! I then repeated the embossing technique for the star and fussy cut the star and cut out the tree. I then got out the diagonal die from The Ton's Slimline Die Collection and cut out a piece of black cardstock, and then I found some purple and teal cardstock in my scraps to act as a mat. Using Bearly Art glue, I glued the black cardstock onto the colored cardstock and then glued it onto a 110lb white card base. I then popped the tree and star onto the card panel using foam tape and I choose the sentiment from Gina K's stamp set Sparkle and Shine and stamped it onto some metallic cardstock using Stazon ink. I then added some bling I had in my stash. It was a very easy process!! Again, there is some metallic dust on my trees from the embossing, but I actually like it, so I left it.
Even though it did not come out perfect, the imperfection is just right! I know I will use this stencil a lot more! I can't wait to see what else I come up with between now and the holidays! Thanks for looking and see you all later this week!
Happy Crafting Y'all!
