Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card for my All About Layering 2 class with the Altenew Educator Certification Program and I wanted to go tropical! With the cold weather coming, I am dreaming of Hawaii!!
With tropical in mind, I decided to go with the Totally Tropical stamp and die set. I have a limited Altenew ink supply, so I used some Catherine Pooler inks for this card to achieve the bright colors I wanted to get. I started by stamping the images onto a piece of 110lb card stock. I chose to go with a heavy card stock because I wanted sturdy flowers once I die cut them out. I stamped the images first with Jet Black Altenew ink and then stamped the lighter color for the background part of the flower and then I stamped the darker color. I wanted purples, pinks, yellows and oranges and I stamped several of each color. I then stamped the leaves, again stamping the lighter color and then the darker color of ink. After I stamped all of the flowers and leaves, I used the coordinating dies and cut them out with my die cutting machine. After all the flowers and leaved were cut out, I rearranged them onto a prepared 5.25"x4" card panel until I was happy with the arrangement, and then took a picture with my phone so I knew how to arrange them, since I would need to take them off to add glue and foam tape. After I put the flower arrangement back together using glue and foam tape, I then cut out the Aloha sentiment with the Aloha word die three times. I then glued them on top of each other to add dimension and glued the sentiment onto the card panel. I then took a piece of dark pink cardstock and cut it to size to mat the card panel. I then glued the card panel onto a white card base made of 110lb white cardstock. I then added some orange gem embellishments to add the final touch. I think the card came out beautifully and it definitely reminds me of Hawaii!! See you all soon for the next class project! Happy Crafting Y'all!! Hey everyone!!! Happy weekend to you!! Today I am bringing you a card I made as part of the PPCF Design Team for our sponsor this week - Di's Digi Stamps! I chose to play with this adorable mouse and poinsettia image, which is soooo cute!
The first thing I did was I sized the image using Publisher and printed the image using a laser printer. I then fussy cut the image out. I then colored the image using Copic markers. I then got out my Bokeh Layering stencil from Taylored Expressions and used Distressed Inks and blending brushes to add the bokeh spots in the middle of the card panel. I then popped the colored mouse with foam tape. I then die cut the word Winter from the holiday word dies from Tim Holtz three times and glued them together using Bearly Art Glue to add depth. I then picked out a small sticker from the Tim Holtz Christmas sticker book to add to the Winter word and added it on top of the word Winter. I then picked out a light pink 110lb piece of cardstock for my card base, and then cut a piece of dark brown cardstock with the Tim Holtz Deckled Trimmer to mat the card panel and then popped it onto the card base with foam tape. Final finish is adding some embellishments from Trinity Stamps! The card came out so cute! The mouse has such a sweet face! Hope you enjoy my creation and see you next time! Happy Crafting Y'all! The Creating Kindness Design Team is back for another Blog Hop and it is Designers Choice for November! I have really been wanting to play with the Stamping Foam by Simon Hurley and this was the perfect time to play! I chose to use the Large Snowflakes and Swirls dies and Layering Snowflakes stamps from Hero Arts for today's project. The reason I chose this is because I am anxious to get into the holiday spirit and this card says holiday to me.
I first put the snowflake stamps on my glass mat and heat the foam with my heat gun and pressed down to make the snowflake impression in the foam. I then took three different inks from Catherine Pooler and made a ombre on the foam and then stamped onto a white piece of cardstock. There was still ink left on the foam, so I spritzed it with water and stamped another impression onto a different piece of white cardstock to get a more muted watercolored look. I then took the snowflake stamps and stamped snowflakes slightly off the white image left from the foam print. I then cut them into the rectangle size of the stamp foam, and then mat them with colored cardstock. I then took some colored cardstock and cut out some snowflakes and swirls and painted them with Clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle. I then glued the swirls with Bearly Art Glue and popped the snowflakes with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment with Intense Black ink from Hero Arts and cut it out in a rectangle and popped it up with foam tape. I then embossed the card base with a embossing folder, popped the snowflake panel onto the base, and then added some embellishments from Trinity Stamps. I love how this turned out! Please visit all of the blogs and tell everyone hi!!! Next in the blog hop is: https://wp.me/p9Vk0d-3SP Have a great day! Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card I made as part of the Design Team for Passionate Paper Creations & Friends, and Whimsy Stamps is our sponsor this week! I LOVE Whimsy Stamps! They have the cutest stamps! For this card, I picked the Thinking Of You Penguin image to play with from their digital stamps. Isn't he cute!! I first started by sizing the image to the size I wanted and printed him with a toner ink printer because toner ink is Copic friendly.
I then colored him with Copic markers and fussy cut the top portion of him out until I reached the snow, for I was not sure what I was going to do yet with the snow bank. I then ink blended a background with Distress Ink and white embossed some snowflakes for a snowy background. I then cut out a circle using a stitched circle die and ink blended it with Distress Ink and popped the penquin up on the circle with foam tape. I then fussy cut the snow bank to match the circle and popped the circle on the snowy background with foam tape. I had a holiday sentiment from another Whimsy stamp set so I white embossed the sentiment and then fussy cut it and popped it with foam tape, then added some red pearl embellishments. I then glued the panel onto a red cardstock mat and then glued it onto the white 110lb white card base using Bearly Art Glue. I love how he turned out! So cute!!! Please go check out Whimsy Stamps at whimsystamps.com and check them out! Have a great day! Happy Crafting Y'all! So those that know me, know that a CAS (Clean and Simple) card is very challenging for me! LOL! Well this month's theme for the Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop is CAS, so here goes nothing! I have been wanting to play with Unity Stamp's Tiny Trees stamp set so this was the perfect time to break them out. I ink blended the pink stripe using post-it notes to mask and then alternated the trees with purple and teals colors using inks from Catherine Pooler, Grape Crush and All That Jazz. I then added some dots in between the trees to fill in some empty space. I then stamped the sentiment in black and added some Boiled Sugar Hearts embellishment from Trinity Stamps. The card panel is popped onto the card base with some foam tape. That's it! It took about 15 minutes to make this card, but I stared at it for another 30 minutes because I wanted to add more to it! LOL! I think it turned out cute, and it was fast and easy! Great challenge!! I am here today sharing my first project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program and I am starting with the All about layering 1 class. I love the layering stamps from Altnew and I chose to play with the Beautiful Day stamp set and it is such a beautiful stamp set!
First, I made a mask by stamping the lined flower image onto a post-it note and fussy cut it out. I then cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4" x 5" and stamped the lined floral image on the lower right hand corner using Altenew Jet Black ink. Using the mask, I covered the stamped image and stamped two more lined floral images on each side of the first image. I then stamped the lined floral image onto the upper left hand corner. Using the mask, stamped the lined leave stamp where I wanted them positioned around the flower. I then moved onto the solid stamp image of the flower and stamped the floral image with Altenew Dew Drops and Sunkissed inks while using the mask. I then stamped the next stamp in the layering sequence with Altenew Aqualicious and Orange Cream inks while using the mask. The last step of the flowers was the next stamp in the layering sequence using Galatic Stream and Autumn Breeze inks. I then moved onto the leaves, and stamped the solid stamp image using Altenew Frayed Leaf ink while using the mask, and then stamped the next stamp for the layered look with Altenew Forest Glades ink. I love this color combo! I then stamped the sentiment image in Altenew Jet Black ink and glued my card panel to a black mat measured at 5 1/4" x 4" and then glued to the A2 sized card base. I then added some black embellishments to complete the look. I am very pleased with the end result! Check back soon for the my next project for the All About Layering 2 class! Okay, so I cannot get enough of this stamp set! Last time I did a Halloween card with it, so this time I wanted to make a Thanksgiving card with it. I stamped the image and then used the stitched slimline die from Trinity to cut it out. I then colored the pumpkins with Copic markers, make the light color fade into the middle of the pumpkins to make that "glow" look. I then colored the background with Copic markers and then matted it with a teal cardstock to match the teal pumpkins. Stamped the sentiment and cut it out into a strip and popped it up with some foam tape and then added some embellishments from Trinity. Such a great Autumn card!
Happy Crafting Y'all! The one thing I can say about the Layering Coneflower dies from Honey Bee Stamps is WOW! I love these dies! And they are so easy to work with! I cut these layers out and colored them with Copic markers using the flicking method to create that striped look. I then started putting the layers together by added foam tape in between each layer and it turned out FAB! I love these so much! I colored the leaves with Copic markers and then glued them onto the card panel that I cut with a stitched background die from Honey Bee Stamps with Bearly Art glue. Added some embellishments from Trinity Stamps to complete the look! LOVE!
So how cut are these frogs?! I just love them! The stamp set came in the Simon Says Stamp's August card kit and a friend gifted me a kit and I love this stamp set! I colored these guys with Copic markers and made a mini-slimline with a die from Trinity Stamps. The kit came with a cloud stencil, so I made the background with some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and ink blending. I then die cut out the frogs and lily pad and popped them with some foam tape and added the sentiment with some foam tape. I added some embellishments from Trinity Stamps for the win! Love these guys!
Happy Crafting Y'all! Okay....can we talk about how pretty this stamp is! This is Botanic Hello from Mama Elephant and I had so much fun coloring it with Copic markers! For the Hello, I did a gradient coloring and then added some Glossy Accents to make the letters stand out. For the back ground, I used the Sweater Weather stencil from Simon Hurley and I fussy cut out the floral image and popped it with some foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts Intense black ink and cut it down into a strip and popped it up with foam tape. I added some embellishments from Trinity Stamps to complete the look. So pretty!
